Patricia Sheehan and Patricia Wilson might share a first name, but it’s their common interests that have formed a firm friendship between the two.
On their first day at the Bethlehem Aged Care Home, they found themselves seated at the same table, they’d never met before, now they’re inseparable.
Both in their 90s, one Patricia came from Bridgewater, one Patricia from Warrnambool. They shared similar interests, but don’t get them started on their favourite footy team, it’s the one thing they don’t share!
Bethlehem’s lifestyle coordinator Kylie Paxton said it was nice, and humbling, to see the pair’s friendship.
She says, “They’ve never got a nasty word to say about anybody, always nice and kind,”
Many new residents to aged care facilities find it difficult to make new friends but Pat and Pat happily welcome new people, take them to their table and chat like they’re part of the family.
The two ‘Pats’ example is just proof you’re never too old to make new friends
