Why a record number of people are now looking for retirement villages

0

It seems word is finally starting to spread about the benefits of retirement village life!

Figures from our sister website, villages.com.au, which is basically a directory for retirement villages and land lease communities and a knowledge centre for all aspects of retirement living, have revealed record new sales enquiry in the month of January.

We normally see a spike early in the year.

But the visits we’ve picked up this year are incredible.

January 2021 experienced 121,747 visitors, up 15% on January 2020.

This is a record for the website, which launched back in June 2006.

Not just looking – people ready to make the move

It wasn’t just the fact they were visiting the site that was so impressive.

But it was their behaviour on the site!

Customer activity on the web portal was turbocharged, with enquiry, which can be phone calls, website clicks or emails to operators, peaking at 18,600 for the month.

That’s a 44% spike on the figures (impressive at the time) recorded in January last year.

A sign the good word’s getting out there

We’d love to take credit for drawing new people in.

But the truth of the matter is we haven’t done anything drastically different.

We are constantly reworking our SEO on the site and making sure our educational content is relevant and engaging. We always rank highly on search engines.

But this is expected.

The only thing that’s changed between this time and the same time last year is COVID.

People have reassessed their situation and the suitability of their current homes.

And many of them are now seeing the benefits of retirement village living both financial and social.

We’ve always believed the benefits of village life is a compelling proposition.

This tells us word is getting out – and that’s good news for all Australians.
