The Victorian Seniors Festival is back on this year, and a new initiative will see the fun come straight to aged care residents with a statewide tour.
The Victorian Seniors Festival: Aged Care Tour will bring performers to aged care homes across Victoria, in areas such as Thornbury, Warburton, Mornington, Heathcote and Ballarat, to ensure older Victorians unable to attend a traditional festival don’t miss out on the celebrations.
According to organisers, the Victorian Seniors Festival: Aged Care Tour will allow seniors to participate in new and diverse activities, and also to enjoy the return of entertainers after lockdowns kept visitors and volunteers away.
“The 2021 Victorian Seniors Festival theme year of Keep’n On highlights that despite a global pandemic, the thriving lives of our Victorian seniors will continue.
“The Victorian Seniors Festival is an important annual event which supports the Victorian Government’s aim for Victorian seniors to age well and to encourage good health, wellbeing and community participation for our State’s seniors,” they said.
The Victorian Government-funded festival is also streaming performances online.
