The biggest concentration of ageing Australians must be in retirement villages – so they must have the best emergency support systems.
Family-owned INS is the largest emergency call and phone provider for villages across Australia so last Sunday we had their business development manager Jo Bourke on the radio show with Annie and Jill to explain why.
The answer: all calls are managed by qualified nurses 24/7. No others provide this service.
Jo told us their home monitoring service operates though a smart home IP dialer installed in your house.
Clients are given a wearable pendant which they can press to alert the centre and receive a call back from a nurse.
And nurses call you – for a chat
Picture this – you’ve just come out of hospital. INS staff will call you at home to check in on you daily – if the nurse becomes concerned, they can contact your GP.
INS also provides a 24-hour chat line for clients who may be feeling lonely and need someone to talk to.
It’s a great idea – and one that will keep more of us living longer and happier at home.
