2022 has become a life of shortages and higher prices – and France is no exception.

Dijon Mustard is becoming rare as the Northern Hemisphere summer comes to a close due to the French’s affinity to want to liven up a roast lamb or salad.

Many French towns have had to ration shoppers to one jar each of the beloved condiment as supplies are becoming very limited.

In the town of Tours, in west-central France, there were only two jars of Dijon mustard in the shop when a man walked in.

“The audacity!” said Claire Dinhut, who heard about a mustard scandal from the egg courier while at her family home. She shared the “town drama” in a TikTok video.

We’ll leave Claire to tell the rest of the “mustacious” story.
