Thanking our care workers: Victorian property developer offers $10,000 discount to help workers into the housing market

0

Villawood Properties’ Care Worker Support Program is offering care workers – including aged care workers, nurses, teachers, police, firefighters and childcare workers – a $10,000 savings on land in their Geelong estates if they work within 10km of their chosen community.

Under the initiative, 10 per cent of the developer’s new land releases will be reserved for two months for care workers, regardless of demand.

The program is designed to stop workers from being squeezed out of the property market where they work – and it’s already seeing success with the trial now being extended to Villawood’s Melbourne metropolitan estates.

We think it’s a great initiative – and one that other companies should consider. Every day, these workers dedicate themselves to caring for others in the community – why not give a little back?
