We are a nation famous for our use of slang and now we know what the top ten favourites are!
ING banking, of all sources, has revealed census data about the top 10 slang words we Aussies love to use and some might surprise you.
Coming in at equal first was ‘Yeah Nah’ and ‘Arvo’ (38%) while the timeless favourite, ‘Old Mate’, came in a close second (29%) and ‘Esky’ was just behind in third (27%).
Surprisingly, ‘Barbie’ (25%), only came in fifth place ahead of ‘Winge’ (23%) and ‘Bottle-O’ (20%).
But we shouldn’t ‘Sook’ (20%) if our favourite slang word isn’t on the list, after all, Aussie slang is ‘Choc A Bloc’ (17%) with great options.
