School students who still know how to respect their elders!

Students from the Kelvin Grove State College in Brisbane came up with an idea to show support for the nearby Carinity Hilltop aged care home.

Junior school students decided to donate the money they raised from their free dress day to the local aged care home.

Abbie Duncan (pictured) was on the student representative council, who thought of the idea.

“I knew the residents in aged care had been in lockdown and had been doing it tough during COVID, so we thought it would be a good idea to help them by fundraising,” Abbie said.

The school students raised $700 which was used to buy three new companion pets, lifelike electronic stuffed toys, for the aged care home.

Residents were thrilled by the gift from the school students who are now running a contest to name one of the companion pets.

It always warms the heart to see younger and older generations bonding!

  1. GOLD STAR to the young students at Kelvin Grove College for raising money to buy companion dogs ( toys) for the elderly.
My husband is in aged care and he is convinced someone has taken his dog, I would love to purchase one of the above, would you mind telling me where I can purchase the same. His real dog is a Labradoodle.

Thank you to all those caring young people.
