Have your say on our aged care workforce

Minister for Aged Care, Ken Wyatt AM, this week launched a national public consultation program on the workforce – and the online survey is open to everyone including aged care residents, families and carers.

Australia’s aged care staff needs are expected to grow from around 360,000 now to almost one million by 2050. The taskforce, chaired by Professor John Pollaers, has been formed to make sure we have enough workers and they have the right skills mix.

As mentioned in our top story, four out of five older Australians will rely on our aged care services – so why not make your voice heard?

Complete the online survey here. It’s open until 16 Match 2018.

There will also be a series of community meetings in Brisbane on 22-23 February, Melbourne on 26-27 February and Hobart on 15 March.

You can register to attend these sessions by emailing the Aged Care Workforce Strategy Taskforce secretariat at ACWSTaskforce@health.gov.au.
