With many retirement villages around the country are still have some restrictions in place due to the pandemic, they are keeping busy with a range of activities – all while maintaining physical distancing of course.
At Cranbrook Residences in Sydney’s Hills District, they are promoting an ‘active ageing’ program to keep residents motivated and engaged in their overall health and wellbeing.
“We encourage our residents to engage in a range of activities to keep them mentally and physically stimulated,” said Kerry Mann, CEO of Cranbrook Care.
The pick of the bunch is the Cranbrook Residence knitting group.
Over 64 beanies and 54 scarves have been donated to the Bikers Hand, and distributed to those in need, with more wool just dropped off so the group can continue their efforts throughout the cooler months.
“My friends at Cranbrook Residences and I love to knit together, while practicing social distancing of course,” said Wendy, one of Cranbrook Residences knitters.
“It’s one of the many ways that we can keep both our hands and minds active.”
Not a bad effort!
