Here’s a story that shows the benefits of living in a retirement village and the supports it can provide.
RetireAustralia’s Murray Gardens Retirement Village in Albury, NSW, like many villages, has residents who face challenges with their mobility.
Aware of the spread of the Delta variant of COVID-19 and that some residents would not be able to get to the vaccination hub in Wodonga, across the Victorian border, village manager Robyn Anderson got to work.
She called Albury Wodonga Health and it was agreed that a pop up vaccination clinic would be set up at Murray Gardens.
“Our residents, their families and our village team found the nursing team to be very informative and incredibly empathetic, in particular with vaccine hesitant residents. No one was rushed and fears were allayed,” said Ms Anderson.
100 per cent of residents were vaccinated.
A great effort.
