It’s in the name of a good cause too. The pop-up restaurant in Tokyo – called The Restaurant of Order Mistakes – employs people with dementia in an effort to raise awareness of the condition.
Japan has around 4.6 million people living with dementia and this number is set to rise to seven million by 2025.
The owners say they hope the restaurant will help people change how they treat people with dementia – and show that they can be useful members of society.
Food blogger Mizuho Kudo visited the restaurant and enjoyed a plate of dumplings – even though she had ordered a burger, according to Metro.
But the food was still “delicious” and the waiters also seemed to be having a good time, she says.
Sadly the trial for the restaurant is now over, but the owners plan to run a crowdfunding campaign so they can host a special event on World Alzheimer’s Day on September 21.
