Aged care provider Capecare’s under-construction home at Dunsborough is set to look as pretty as a picture, thanks in part to the handiwork of Western Australian visual artist Kyle Hughes-Odgers.
Capecare wanted to do something special at the facility, located about 30km west of Busselton, and after he responded to the brief it quickly became clear that Kyle was the man for the job.
A large-scale artwork will adorn the walls of two 18-metre stairwells and a large two-storey curved entry wall, and it looks like it’s going to be an absolute stunner when it’s done.
“I’ve really enjoyed working on this project as the brief wasn’t too prescriptive and left it open for my interpretation,” he said.
“It’s the way I most like to work.”
The home is due to open in June 2021, and Capecare chief executive officer Elizabeth Hogan says the reception to Kyle’s work has been very positive.
“The main entry statement artwork will be seen from the outdoor green space between what will be the café and the new CWA headquarters. We hope it will evoke smiles for residents, families, visitors and our staff.”
We can’t wait to see the finished product!
