Today, we at The Donaldson Sisters pay tribute to the life of Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, who sadly passed away overnight at the age of 96.
For many of us, Queen Elizabeth was the only monarch we had ever known, and she served with grace and stability through seven decades that were otherwise tumultuous both for her kingdom and the world.
Those of us around the country who have reached 100 years will fondly remember receiving a letter from Her Majesty to mark the occasion, and anyone who was fortunate enough to see her on one of her tours of Australia – the most recent in 2011 – will doubtless have cherished memories of their own.
Our hearts go out to the people of the United Kingdom during this time of mourning, and we offer our most sincere condolences to King Charles III and the royal family as they mark the end of one era and the beginning of another.
