Relationship Australia NSW offering new service to help over-65s combat loneliness and isolation during pandemic

Are you struggling during these hard pandemic times? This could be just what you need.

Relationship Australia NSW launched a new service for people over 65 (or 55 if Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander) who are experiencing loss, isolation, and disconnection during the COVID pandemic.

The service, Reconnect Wellbeing Support, offers free client-focused, high-quality and personalised support and referrals to services which can help you feel more connected.

People who use the service will have access to 1-to-2-hour conversations with a qualified professional who can give personalised recommendations for a range of services.

Those services include educational, health-related, social, recreational, medical and counselling.

Sessions can be conducted online, over the phone, or in person (in a COVID-19 safe setting).

It’s also possible to access interpreters and cultural translation services for those who don’t speak English as a first language.

The service will run until December and people over 65 are being encouraged to take advantage, especially if they have been isolated during the COVID-19 pandemic.

You can call 1300 364 277 to make an appointment or email Relationship Australia NSW at enquiries@ransw.org.au
