A group of pubgoers at the UK’s highest inn have been freed after a snowstorm left them trapped for three days – along with an Oasis cover band.
The Tan Hill Inn in Yorkshire played host to a concert by Noasis last Friday 26 November, with 61 people in attendance – only for everyone to be snowed in, with limited rooms available and no road access.
Fortunately, there was plenty of food and other supplies in the building, and spirits were kept high with activities such as pub quizzes and movies – and, of course, Noasis performances. Thankfully, the roads were cleared by Monday evening and the 50 remaining people (some having previously been evacuated by mountain rescue) were able to leave the inn unscathed; tragically, many were left with “Champagne Supernova” stuck in their heads afterwards.
Now, Some Might Say that nobody, especially a Rock ‘n’ Roll Star, should Acquiesce to putting up with such conditions – but if you were there, Don’t Look Back In Anger, just Let There Be Love and say Thank You For The Good Times; after all, it’s better to Roll With It and break out the Cigarettes & Alcohol even if you wish you were Half The World Away. D’You Know What I Mean?
