Prizes to tell researchers what life is like in a retirement village

More people are entering retirement villages and land lease communities.

Now the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute (AHURI) is paying for researchers at the University of Tasmania and UNSW to study residents’ experiences in retirement villages, including contracting, facilities, and services. You stand a chance of a prize if you complete the 20-minute survey.

There are four $50 Coles Myer gift vouchers to be won.

“If you are aged 50+ and live in a retirement village in NSW, Tasmania or Queensland, we invite you to complete our short survey. Findings will be used to inform government and industry on future reforms on regulations and support,” says the flyer from the three organisations.

The project seeks to assess residents’ experiences in a retirement village, and how residents understand contracts. It will also speak to a range of people in the retirement industry with the aim of understanding business models and how this type of housing for older Australians can be made more affordable.
