Elston Lami Lami, 42, was hunting in shallow waters of Minjilang in Arnhem Land last weekend when he stepped on a log – or what he thought was a log.
“I actually climbed on and stood on top of the croc for 15 seconds,” Mr Elston told 9News. “My cousin then told me I was standing on top of its back, and in a split second he spun me around and knocked me over.”
The predator began to attack the man – but Mr Lami Lami fought it off with a few kicks to the nose (as you do).
The angry croc then pursued him up the bank, biting him again on the leg.
Punching the beast again, Mr Lami finally escaped with wounds to his leg and groin – and the need for a new pair of shorts.
Yikes.
