Only in America: Trump rally falls flat – social media users blamed for poor attendance numbers

The US President’s first public rally in months has attracted far fewer people than were expected, with users of a popular new social media app taking partial credit for artificially inflating attendance numbers.

Trump’s campaign manager Brad Parscale had predicted a huge crowd for the event in Tulsa, Oklahoma last Saturday, saying there were more than one million requests to attend.

But when the big day finally arrived journalists couldn’t help but point out the number of spare seats at the 19,000 capacity BOX arena.

To rub salt into the wound, the Tulsa Fire Department had the final number of attendees at 6,200.

Users of TikTok, a popular video-sharing app, are believed to be part of the cause for the low final attendance, with many claiming to have completed the free online registration with fake details but no intention to attend.

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again – only in America.
