A Missouri town has become the site of a vicious and brutal war… between fast food outlets.
Marshfield McDonald’s fired the opening salvo at the nearby Dairy Queen ice cream restaurant on its sign: “Hey DQ! Wanna have a sign war?”
In a return salvo, Dairy Queen responded, “We would but we’re 2 busy making ice cream”.
“That’s cute,” McDonald’s retaliated. “Our ice cream makes itself.”
It was then that Dairy Queen launched a true grenade, aimed right at McDonald’s weak point, also known as its unreliable soft serve machines.
“Wow, it actually works, shocker,” was the return volley, leaving scorched earth in its wake.
The conflagration has since grown to encompass all of Marshfield, with other local businesses such as banks and real estate agents wading into the fray. More than one million people have dropped by the town’s Facebook page to watch on in horror as residents are caught up in the dreadful yet delicious crossfire.
We can only hope that Marshfield finds some measure of peace soon.
