Former US President Donald Trump is putting his trust in his eldest son to put him back in the White House in November 2024.
Donald Trump Junior is now his dad’s unofficial most senior political adviser, sources told CNN.
If you felt the former US President’s policies were beyond the pale, Donald Trump Junior is the most conservative member of the entire Trump family.
You may recall daughter Ivanka Trump, First Daughter and Advisor to the President, and her husband Jared Kushner, a Senior Adviser, who de facto led Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign. Both now appear on the outs.
Trump Jr has 6.8 million Twitter followers and is re-energising Republican supporters and, equally importantly, knows what fires them up – he is openly transphobic.
“Don has the pulse of the base and knows where the energy of the party is, so he’s sort of the go-to person now on a lot of political things,” a Trump aide told CNN.
On Monday, the ex-President told Fox News that he is “very seriously, beyond seriously” considering running again.
