Only in America: Now that’s one busy maternity ward

You may have had one or two pregnancies in the workplace over the years – but has your office ever had 14 at once?

Nurses in the NICU and Labour & Delivery wards at Saint Luke’s East Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri are expecting a total of 14 babies by the end of the year, with hospital staff announcing the incoming baby boom on Facebook.

“We can’t wait to spoil these Mums and babies just like we do with every special delivery at Saint Luke’s,” they said.

Caitlin Hall, the first of the group to give birth on 3 June, told Fox News that she’d initially thought she was the only one trying for a baby.

“It was my first pregnancy, so I was trying to keep quiet until about 12 weeks, but other people started announcing, so I told everyone as well.

“Then, it was about every two weeks, someone else would announce, ‘I’m pregnant’,” she said.

The nurses’ due dates span the rest of the year up to December – so thankfully they’re not all on the same day, otherwise that would be some serious understaffing…
