NSW Govt kicks in $600,000 initiative to keep NSW seniors connected

Staying connected has never been so important.

So it was encouraging to hear the NSW Government is putting forward a great incentive for community organisations that help seniors do so.

The NSW Reducing Social Isolation grants program is letting community organisations that help keep seniors connected apply for their share in $600,000.

Grants of up to $60,000 are available for separate projects.

NSW Acting Minister for Seniors Kevin Anderson says the idea is to keep seniors as active and socially engaged as possible.

“We’re looking for local, community driven projects and activities that bring seniors together, particularly initiatives that actively engage seniors who are harder to reach,” he said.

“When seniors are healthy and active the whole community benefits.”

We couldn’t agree more!

The Donaldson sisters focus on living today and looking forward positively to the next 10, 20 and 30 years. They get important topics and perspectives on the table for open discussion – topics that aren’t often raised in the mainstream media and voices and perspectives less frequently heard.
