An 18-year-old car thief in the UK has been sentenced to nine months’ hard time… though not without trying to hide in a much softer spot first.
Joshua Dobson, who stole a car in May and drove off without paying for petrol on the same day, was apprehended by Greater Manchester Police in the town of Rochdale last month.
Officers tracked him down to a residential address, only to make a startling and – dare we say – grizzly discovery.
“When we went to arrest him, our officers noticed a large bear breathing in the address before finding Dobson hidden inside!” the police said in a Facebook post.
“He’s now stuffed behind bars after being sentenced last week for theft of a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified, and making off from a petrol station without payment. Hopefully he has a bearable time inside…”
Perhaps he should lean into the bear disguise when he gets out, and start stealing pic-a-nic baskets instead of cars?
