No epidemic of wall-licking at Townsville Hospital, CEO confirms

If you’ve had the misfortune of needing to go to Townsville Hospital recently, you may have seen this sign adorning the walls, advising guests to stop licking them.

An anonymous jokester plastered the hospital with the signs urging people to not lick unwashed walls on the grounds that it “may pose a health risk”, which did the rounds on social media over the past couple of weeks

Thankfully, CEO Kieran Keyes confirmed that the signs were a prank, and that they have since been taken down, thus potentially allowing any aspiring wall-lickers free rein.

“It is clear this was an attempt to be amusing by an individual with a unique sense of humour and, while I appreciate the effort to lighten the mood, I want to assure the community wall-licking is not an issue at Townsville University Hospital,” he said.

Still, we must admit… it is good advice.
