The former doctor’s residence in Hastings on the Mornington Peninsula is up for grabs with just one catch – you have to come and get it yourself, according to the Herald Sun.

Built alongside the former bush hospital in Cool Store Road, the 1930’s weatherboard cottage needs to be moved to make way for a new double-storey, 120-bed aged care facility to replace The Bays Aged Care centre.
The house still retains many of its period features, including ornate ceilings, old-fashioned windows, curved hallways and fireplaces, and would cost around $100,000 to relocate – about half the price of building a new period-style home.
The Bays Aged Care’s general manager Erina Rewi said giving the house away was “a win-win” for everyone, with the property being given a new life and the community being given a new purpose-built centre.
We have to agree – now do any Millennials want to put their hands up?
