34-year-old Patrick Benson was arrested in Florida (US) last week and charged with burglary, grand theft and attempted burglary after he was caught on camera robbing a Wendy’s restaurant.
According to the local Sheriff’s Office, security footage shows Mr Benson breaking into the fast food joint by smashing its windows with a brick after hours – and then turning on the kitchen grill and making himself a burger.
It was only after he’d finished his meal that the thief “casually” grabbed the safe and made his escape.
According to local authorities, this is the second time that Mr Benson had stolen dinner for himself during a robbery, but only this time was he foiled by the CCTV and identified.
Mr Benson is now in the Martin Country Jail – likely thinking about his next burger.
