The Rolling Stones frontman will soon be rocking a stroller instead of the stage, with the news out he is expecting a child with his 29-year-old girlfriend, American ballerina Melanie Hamrick.
Jagger, who turns 73 on July 26, already has seven children with four other women and is both a grandfather and great-grandfather.
The rocker began dating Hamrick after the 2014 suicide of his long-time partner, fashion designer L’Wren Scott, but it’s reported she will not be moving to London but staying in the US to be close to her family.
He’s also not the only late-in-life dad in the Stones, with bandmate Ronnie Wood, 69, welcoming twin girls earlier this year with his third wife Sally Humphreys.
With the average life expectancy for 65-year-old men in the UK currently at 83.4 years[1], Jagger and Wood clearly believe time is on their side.
Hopefully they will avoid the fate of so many great musicians who have left us too soon[2].
