The conversations of life

Is this the most Melbourne thing ever?

A Melbourne man has launched a Kickstarter campaign to create a jacket designed to combat the Victorian capital’s crazy weather.

In one garment, the ‘Melbourne Jacket’ can transform into a singlet when it gets hot or even an emergency storm suit when a downpour hits the city – without compromising on style.

Other weather-fighting features include retractable thongs, snow gloves, a ski mask, poncho and even a mini dog raincoat for your pooch.

It’s the brainchild of Aaron Tyler who came up with the idea after being drenched getting off a train.

“I got on in complete sunshine, only to get off a short time later to a heavy rain, gale force winds and thunder. I was caught wearing a t-shirt and thongs. I thought to myself, I’m bloody tired of this, something needs to be done,” he says.

So far the campaign has only raised $1,000 towards its $12,000 goal – but we can’t see why Melburnians wouldn’t get on board with the project.

After all, it really is ‘Four Seasons in One Day’.
