While Australians have been pretty good with face masks during the pandemic, there have been parts of the world (not to name names) where the “to mask or not to mask” debate has been divisive.
But that could be over thanks to the efforts on one American who has come up with an innovative (albeit somewhat invasive) solution.
Allan Can, an inventor who regularly uploads videos on YouTube, has built a pneumatic cannon capable of firing a mask directly onto a person’s face.
The handheld cannon has been cobbled together, a bit like Frankenstein’s monster.
It has a grip from a spray paint can handle, a laser cut frame, a CO2-powered pneumatic system and even a laser sight (perhaps a bit excessive) to make it easier to aim.
To make it work, you simply aim it at the face of someone who’s not wearing a mask, and fire!
Watch it in action here.
It’s a clever idea, but we think we’d still prefer the traditional method of putting a mask on.
