But this 2017 calendar of Russian President Vladimir Putin is the real deal.
Released annually by Russian magazine Zvezdi Soveti, the latest edition pairs pictures of the 64-year-old being his usual ‘action man’ self with quotes praising particular virtues.
Posted to Twitter by the BBC’s Moscow correspondent, the final page shows the fearless leader looking forward to 2018 with a slightly alarming statement:
“Russia is a peace-loving and self-sufficient country. We don’t need other people’s territories, and we don’t need other people’s natural resources. But if we are threatened, we are prepared to use weapons to guarantee our security.”
We doubt it will affect sales though – last year, all 200,000 copies of the 2016 calendar sold out.
Have a look for yourself and decide if there are not hints of Daniel Craig’s James Bond here.
