Kindergarten cop: Utah police stop five-year-old – on the way to California in parent’s car

Utah state troopers had initially thought they were dealing with an impaired driver – but when they pulled over the car, they instead found the pint-sized getaway driver who informed them he was driving interstate to buy a Lamborghini sports car – with $3 in his pocket.

The boy told officers that he had left home after an argument in which his mum refused to buy him the luxury sports car (considering they range in price from around $200,000 to up to $5 million, not surprised she said no).

“He decided he’d take the car and go to California to buy one himself,” police said on Twitter. “He might have been short on the purchase amount, as he only had $3 in his wallet.”

The youngster – who could barely see over the steering wheel – had managed to drive about 8km before he was stopped by the authorities.

Police have now interviewed him and his family.

We’re guessing the Lamborghini will not be under the Christmas tree this year.
