Maori Tezuka, who started in the X-rated industry at the age of 71, has called it quits.
The former opera singer and actress became involved in ‘JK’ films (which stands for ‘jukunen koreisha’ or mature elderly women) after she got to know someone who worked in production and they invited her to make an “appearance”.
But she’s retiring from the spotlight after finding her co-stars were no longer living up to expectations.
“Once the lights go on, you just do your best,” she told the Tokyo Reporter. “I have no regrets, but shooting became difficult when the actor wasn’t my type.”
But she hasn’t ruled out a return to the industry should the right man come along.
“It was never about the money for me. I’ve already been asked about returning in two or three years – I said I’d think about it.”
‘Silver porn’ is big business in Japan – where over 34 million people are over 65 – making up around a quarter of the $20 billion porn industry.
