Inter-village ABBA-inspired dance-off a great success at Ryman retirement villages

0

An inter-village dance off, using classic ABBA music, has been declared a huge success by Ryman after a host of retirement villages took part.

It started out as a joke by Grace Joel Retirement Village entertainer Dr Joe McDermott who said a dance off was a great way to get residents up and moving while also having a tonne of fun – then the idea took off.

Some residents dressed up as their favourite ABBA members before cutting up the dance floor.

Three female residents from Botany, in NSW, and Pukekohe, in New Zealand, were the last three standing.

The overall winners were Possum Bourne residents Murray and Dianne (pictured), who took home a bottle of bubbly and some fine dining vouchers.

The ABBA dance-off is now expected to become an annual event with other villages being encouraged to take part.

So, get your dancing shoes on!
