Not-for-profit aged care provider, Feros Care, has launched a new program using Google Assistant that will provide their clients with live updates on their care – including upcoming appointments, which carers will be visiting them, new messages and information about their accounts – all with just their voice.
The program is currently being trialled across two states as a pilot program, but Feros Care is now calling for more participants with the aim to make the technology a standard offering for all its clients.
Feros Care Chief Information Office, Glenn Payne, said they have seen an almost 85 per cent reduction in phone calls to the contact centre from participants who are now getting their answers on the new portal.
“We needed a way to cater for all our clients, not just those who can use a computer, and voice-command technology enables us to do that,” Mr Payne said.
