Granddaughter has ‘second wedding’ so grandmother in aged care can see her get married

0

Here’s a sweet story. Sydney woman Portia Down has always been close with her grand-mother Peggy – and even though Peggy’s aged care home is over an hour’s drive away, the two never go a weekend without seeing each other.

And when Portia realised that Peggy – who has dementia and can’t leave her home – wouldn’t be able to be there on the day she married her dream man, she was determined to take the special event to her.

So, one week after officially tying the knot, Portia, her family and the entire bridal party re-staged the wedding in Peggy’s home.

Peggy sat right up front and centre to watch her beloved granddaughter get married (again).
