We’ve all had a moment where we’ve gone a little overboard with the Mortein when trying to get rid of a house fly, but this story is something else entirely.
A man has accidentally blown up his house after trying to dispose of a fly that had rudely interrupted his dinner. French news outlet France Bleu reports the 82-year-old, who lives alone, was trying to whack the fly with an electric fly swatter known as a ‘bug zapper’.
The electricity reportedly reacted with a gas pocket from a leaking gas canister inside the home, and this caused an explosion which collapsed part of the roof.
The man’s home, located in Parcoul-Chenaud village, is now uninhabitable, but thankfully he was able to escape with a minor burn to his hand.
And the fly? Well, we can only assume the worst.
