We love history and we love looking at old photos. With the advent of the internet it’s so easy to get a fix of almost anything you might desire, including interesting vintage images.
Take a look at this collection that captures some amazing, funny and tragic moments from the olden days!

- This woman is demonstrating a gas-resistant pram… not everyone’s idea of a great day out with baby. War or no war.

- 1937 – Baby cages were deployed to ensure young children received enough healthy sunlight and fresh air while living in apartment buildings. Funny how it didn’t catch on…

- 1961 in the staff cafeteria at Disneyland. We think it must be staged because the astronaut and Goofy wouldn’t be wearing their head gear in the queue…would they?

- The Hindenburg disaster took place near New Jersey in the US on Thursday, May 6, 1937. The German passenger airship failed to dock and caught fire, killing a total of 36 people.

- 1940. A little girl sits among the ruins of her bombed home in London, clinging to her doll.

- Annie Edison Taylor was the first person to survive going over Niagara Falls in a barrel. Nobody messes with Annie! 1901.

- Who is this handsome young man? It’s silent film legend, Charlie Chaplin, 1916. Aged 27.

- More recently (1990): a 106 year old Armenian woman, guarding her home!
