Parkinson’s is the second-most common neurodegenerative illness after Alzheimer’s – with 80,000 Australians living with the disease and 14,000 new diagnoses every year.
There is currently no cure, but symptoms can be managed by sticking closely to your medication system.
The problem is – the dosing schedule for Parkinson’s medication is complicated and very strict, and some studies suggest up to 67 per cent (over two thirds) of people don’t take theirs properly.
Now, Webstercare is trialling a new version of their blister pack (pictured) that clearly and simply arranges medications and the specific times they need to be taken throughout the day.
The distinctive fuchsia-coloured Webster-pak (pictured) has been specifically designed for aged care homes as well as for at-home use.
