Finding Australia’s best chicken schnitzel sounds like a difficult (albeit delicious) research project!
Travel website Wotif asked 1,247 Australians what chicken schnitzels were a crumb above the rest as part of the travel booking website’s 2020 Uniquely Aussie Awards – and the results are in.
Adelaide’s cheekily named Schnithouse took out the gong for Best Schnitty 2020.
The Rundle Street restaurant has been feeding hungry Adelaideans for years, and boast 20 schnitzel varieties including a schnitzel topped with bacon and fried eggs (sounds like the recipe for a heart attack!)
Schnithouse owner Ankur Patel told news.com.au a unique menu with fresh ingredients and a focus on customer services helped the restaurant stand out from the pack.
“We’ve been at this location for nine years, with the same name, the same menu, the same team and the same suppliers, which makes everything consistent – and consistency is very important in keeping a good schnitzel at the right quality,” he said.
Sounds like the right ingredients to us!
