Carved into a dry lake bed in Marcus Hill, Victoria, the image is so (ahem) impressive it’s been picked up on Google Maps – garnering dozens of five-star reviews and making headlines around the world.
The Geelong Advertiser reports that the picture – dubbed the ‘Aussie Wiener’ – went viral after being shared on a Facebook group called ‘Take The Piss Geelong’ (of course), but the local community has been giggling over the unlikely attraction for several months.
It’s not the first time that the global satellite mapping system has picked up a naughty drawing here however. Last year another racy image was picked up in a paddock in nearby Mount Duneed.
Sadly the ‘artists’ behind the picture have revealed it is no more after the lake filled with water, washing out their ‘masterpiece’.
At least it will live on in Google Maps for years to come.
