At a mere nine years of age, the tiny Norwegian songstress, Angelina Jordan, has become one of Europe’s hottest rising stars. She won the 2014 Norska Talenter (Norway’s Got Talent) competition, aged only eight.
According to her official website (!) the young prodigy was one and a half years old when she discovered YouTube and became smitten with the Whitney Houston song, “I will always love you”.
“From listening she began to sing along with Whitney. We discovered that she is impressive for her age. Months passed and her interest in music began to expand as she started listening to jazz tracks and old tracks by many artists. From related music videos she found Billy Holiday and fell in love with her. She sang along and after a while she asked if it was possible to have a karaoke version of her favourite songs,” it says.
No doubt she is a great talent but let’s hope she doesn’t grow up too quickly in the harsh glare of stardom and suffer the fate of so many other child stars (she is being compared to Judy Garland!).
