The US President – who is currently facing allegations of sexual assault and harassment – confused the words “consensual” and “consequential” when posting an excerpt from a recent newspaper opinion piece praising his presidency on Twitter this week.
Trump quickly replaced the tweet with a new post using “consequential”, but many Twitter users had already gleefully spotted the error.
“Given that 54% of the population voted for somebody else and 35% approve of you right now, I’d check my dictionary definition of “consensual” if I were you,” one user posted.
Of course, it’s not the first time that Trump has proved he can’t use spellcheck – his infamous “covfefe” Tweet made worldwide headlines last year.
But given the complaints against him, we have to agree with another user:
“I don’t think anybody’s ever assumed Donald Trump knows what consensual means.”
