Aged care residents become ‘tech savvy’ with a digital app specifically designed for their use

Not to be left behind by the Millennials (born between 1981-1996) SA company Care Konnect has developed a digital app specifically for the aged care sector.

The platform allows posts from health workers and care staff to update family members on the progress of their loved one and gives users the ability to file complaints about their treatment.

Founder and chief Sean Grealy says, “We spent almost a year working with four different aged care providers with groups like COTA SA, running workshops with people who are 50+.

Aged care service providers are activated on Care Konnect and set up private networks for their residents, along with their family and friends through invitation.

Mr Grealy says one of the best things about the app is that it reduces isolation on a day-to-day basis.

Care Konnect has three providers using the app in Adelaide, Kalyra Communities, Fullarton Lutheran Homes and ECH and two in Sydney.
