A resident of Catholic Healthcare’s St John’s Villa in New Lambton, Venton Harding has supported the Knights rugby league team since he moved to Newcastle 12 years ago.
The diehard fan has his room decorated from floor to ceiling in Knights paraphernalia, and just this year saved up to become a member of the Club for the first time.
Attending his first ever home game last week in a wheelchair after undergoing two hip replacements, the Club heard about Venton’s passion for the team and invited him down to watch them train and meet the players.
Walking away from the session with two signed caps and two jerseys, Venton said he was “absolutely speechless” – “It’s been the most amazing day.”
Great to see a long-held wish come true.
