Another example of how providers are stepping up to keep their residents socially connected during the pandemic.
Victorian provider Lifeview has put ‘Hugging Stations’ in place in visiting areas across all four of its homes to allow residents to engage in the simple act of a hug.
“During this unprecedented time, the residents have been telling us one of the things they miss the most is a lack of physical interaction. So, we looked for a simple, safe and effective solution to ensure this need is met,” Lifeview’s Social Support Manager, Annitta Macauley, said.
“The looks of joy on the faces of residents and their loved ones post hug tells us this small innovation is a winner.”
Looks like a winner to us too.
