Aged care homes celebrate Easter with some special visitors

Real life bunnies have been brought into Medical & Aged Care Group’s Carrum Downs home, southeast of Melbourne’s CBD, to the delight of residents.

“It was really fun. The residents had a great time and it was so lovely to see,” said a nurse at Carrum Downs Aged Care.

Elsewhere, aged care residents have been busy making Easter decorations, including Respect Aged Care Group’s Cooinda home in Lithgow in regional NSW. Cooinda, which has a new 36-bed wing, posted the images of happy residents at an Easter-themed arts and crafts session (below).

At Hardi Aged Care Manly Vale in Sydney, the residents have been showing off their artworks in readiness for a visit from the Easter Bunny.

Meanwhile the residents at Tabulam & Templer Homes for the Aged in Bayswater, east of Melbourne’s CBD, received a donation of hot cross buns from the local Baker’s Delight.

“Residents and staff tucked into a variety of scrumptious hot cross buns with a plethora of flavours available including traditional fruit, fruitless, choc chip, apple cinnamon, and mocha. It was the perfect treat to warm one up on a rainy Autumn day,” said the owner/operator on Facebook.

Residents at Pathways Killara Gardens, northwest of Sydney’s CBD, had a great time being creative by designing their own Easter-themed cupcakes.

We hope your Easter is just as enjoyable!
