Only in Australia: NSW RSL Club makes national headlines – over not-quite-halved bread roll

1

Yes, really. The Corowa RSL Club has grabbed attention this week after national headlines – after a customer returned a roll for not being cut exactly in half.

“While it was quickly dismissed as funny, further investigation revealed the customer was in fact correct and we were a full cm off the perfect cut! Only in Clubs,” CEO Peter Norris wrote on LinkedIn.

The incident has since been dubbed “roll-gate” by cheeky club members, but the customer didn’t ask for a refund for her ordeal. “The worker made a new one,” Mr Norris said.

“And staff then handed the customer a knife so she could cut it herself, the way she wanted.”

The customer is always right?
