The conversations of life

Want a taste of retirement village life? Now you can use Virtual Reality to ‘try before you buy’

West Australian village operator St Ives has launched online VR tours of the apartments and facilities at their new Carine retirement village to give retirees an idea of what life would be like living there.

How does it work?

St Ives Carine retirement village as seen through VR.

Grab a set of cheap VR goggles – we’ve seen them priced from just $20. Download the app that comes with the goggles, plug in your phone and then click on this link on St Ives’ website here.

You can then ‘walk’ through the village as though you’re actually there – all without leaving your home.

If you like what you see, you can then book a tour in ‘real life’.

We think it’s a great idea. You could show the village to children who live interstate or overseas or just have a look around without feeling any pressure – and it sounds fun too.
