You can now use some of our more colourful vocabulary to rack up high scores after Mattel released the new local version of the popular board game – complete with 250 classic slang words.

The new Aussie slang edition

Players will earn a 10-point bonus for using true-blue words such as arvo, biffo, brekkie, cozzie, crikey, devo, footy, moolah, relo, sickie and wowser.

The new game also includes ‘strewth cards’ which allows players to pick extra tiles.

The list of words was chosen from over 20,000 submissions on social media from around Australia, with a “G-rated” shortlist chosen by Mattel.

Spokeswoman Jacinta Whitehead said: “A lot of filtering was required, as there’s a lot of alcohol and gaming references in Australian slang” (no surprise there).
